BayRides

Since 2015, BayRides has been providing affordable, accessible, door-to-door transportation for over 18,000 residents who live in the St Margaret’s Bay area. Used by many to get to work, a growing number of seniors, youth, and those with health and wellness appointments in Halifax also rely on BayRides, as do working and retired people who do not own a personal vehicle for financial, health, or other reasons.


Founded on the belief that people’s quality of life is improved economically and socially when they are connected with their community, BayRides strives to make those connections possible for everyone.

Requests for help from the BayRides’ fare assistance program have increased dramatically, not only in the number of clients using the program, but also the level of support needed. A central part of BayRides’ mission is to ensure that no one is deprived of essential transportation because of circumstances.
