St. Margaret’s Bay Food Bank and Thrift Store

The St. Margaret’s Bay Food Bank assists hundreds of local residents each month—more than ever before in its documented history.

Food donations from the community form the backbone of support, while monetary donations and gift cards allow the food bank to purchase urgent items as needed, as well as perishables like meat, vegetables, fruit, dairy, and eggs, and essentials like toiletries.

The food bank also prepares special Christmas hampers for approximately 80 local households, adding up to almost 300 individuals.

Wish lists are posted on the food bank’s website and Facebook page, and donations may be dropped off at the food bank, Tuesday to Saturday, 11am-4pm, or at any of the organization’s donation bins in the community. The food bank is located at 9A Sonnys Road (behind The Rustic Crust), Upper Tantallon.

Food pick-up is by appointment.

The organization operates a thrift store at the same location, with reasonably priced, gently used clothing, shoes, and household goods.

Please call the food bank about accessing support, making a donation, coordinating a local food drive, or volunteering.

The St. Margaret’s Bay Food Bank is a member of Feed Nova Scotia.
